Little did we know when we were allocated the collecting dates a year ago a tragic death of a young person 150 miles away would somehow benefit the Samaritan branch here in rural Somerset. Although Samaritans is a household name and a major national charity, the fact is that the organization relies on donations for 96% of its funding. Our Support Samaritans provide valuable assistance to the branch not only through fund raising and administration but also by promoting the work of Samaritans.
